Aethen sits on his bed playing with one of his trucks, making the sounds of an engine. Deciding that the floor was a better place, he climbs down and sets up a board from his bed to the floor and starts sliding the truck down the plank. He giggles wildly after each time.
Hearing Aethen's laughter from the hall, Jewel opens the bedroom door to find him playing with a toy truck. She smiles and laughs to herself before walking fully inside. Jewel crouches down to the floor and crosses her legs and watches Aethen play.
"Hey little guy. Are you playing with your little truck?"
Jewel smiles and watches Aethen's expressions as he plays with the toy.
Aetehn had heard Jewel approaching and was looking at the door, anxiously awaiting her arrival. When she does show herself, he breaks into a big grin. "Haayyeee!!! Hayeee!!" He squeels as he wiggles his little fingers in something resembling a wave. He pushes his little butt up into the air with his hands and stands up, running to Jewel. "Ntie Jew! Ntie Jew!" He cries with joy, running towards her, his arms outstretched, fingers opening and closing to indicate that he wants somtehing. Clearly, he wants her to pick him up.
Jewel stands up and her heart begins to pound to see how excited he was to see her. It made her feel important and for the most part loved. She picks up Aethen and gives him a hug. Lisa's voice traveled the sound waves into Aethen's room.
I wonder what he's doing here. I haven't seen him since October.
Jewel gasps at the young Aethen.
"Let's go see who's here!"
Jewel walks out the door and down the stairs.
